Full-Day Biblical Tour: Athens & Ancient Corinth – Private Experience

0

Mars Hill • Ancient Agora • Church of the Holy Apostles • Corinth Canal • Ancient Corinth • Church of St. Paul
From the wisdom of Athens to the church in Corinth — follow the Apostle Paul where history and faith meet

“He reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks.” – Acts 18:4

Trace the path of Apostle Paul through two of the most powerful cities of the ancient world — Athens, the intellectual heart of the Greco-Roman world, and Corinth, where Paul planted one of Christianity’s first great churches. This full-day private experience invites you into the story of Acts with a licensed guide, luxury transport, and space to reflect where Scripture came to life.

Begin in Athens, where Paul arrived alone and provoked by the city’s many idols. High on Mars Hill, with the Parthenon above and the city stretched below, you will remember the sermon from Acts 17, where Paul declared the “Unknown God” to a council of philosophers. The stones beneath your feet echo with history; the text becomes a living voice.

Just below lies the Ancient Agora, where Paul “reasoned daily in the marketplace.” Walk the colonnades and open squares where everyday Athenians met, traded, and debated. In the quiet of the Church of the Holy Apostles, built centuries later on this same ground, reflect on the faith that began here with one man’s words.

Then, leave the city behind and follow the coast toward the Peloponnese. Pause at the Corinth Canal, a dramatic manmade cut through the land — narrow, steep, and unforgettable.

In Ancient Corinth, Paul’s mission becomes tangible. Walk through the Roman forum where he preached and worked. Stand at the Bema, the judgment seat where he was brought before Gallio (Acts 18). The towering columns of the Temple of Apollo remind you of the spiritual tension he faced — and the boldness of his teaching.

Nearby, visit the Church of St. Paul in modern Corinth, where a striking mosaic depicts Paul’s sermon at the Bema — a powerful modern tribute to his lasting message. If time and interest allow, visit Kechries, the ancient port from which Paul departed and where Phoebe, the deaconess of Romans 16:1, began her journey.

Between visits, enjoy a seaside lunch at a traditional Greek taverna — time to rest, reflect, and savor the atmosphere where Scripture and sea meet.

Return to Athens in the late afternoon — not as a tourist, but as a traveler through time and testimony.
