I’m walking up and down Alexandras avenue almost everyday, but only yesterday did I spot this balcony on the refugee apartment blocks (note: this buildings were built to accomodate refugees that came from Asia Minor after the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923). Although I just shot the balcony, you can notice that the building is in bad condition. Still that didn’t bother the lady living in the specific apartment to decorate her balcony creating her own “garden”. I find it inspiring!
Περπατάω πάνω κάτω στην Αλεξάνδρας σχεδόν κάθε μέρα, αλλά μόλις χθες παρατήρησα αυτό το μπαλκόνι στα προσφυγικά. Αν και φωτογράφησα μόνο το μπαλκόνι, είναι εμφανές ότι το κτίριο είναι σε άθλια κατάσταση. Αυτό δεν φαίνεται να πτόησε την κυρία του συγκεκριμένου διαμερίσματος που διακόσμησε το μπαλκονάκι της φτιάχνοντας τον προσωπικό της “κήπο”. Με εμπνέει μια τέτοια κίνηση!
